Whooooa! I can't believe that I created Belzo 21 years ago! How time flies! And isn't it great being a cartoon character - you never get old. How old is Disney's Mickey Mouse - Almost 100 - and he is still the same. Okay, since Belzo is old than some of the people who are reading this I think its best if we all start by reading My Bio and then return here for the extension.
Hey, but if you have already read My Bio - we are good to go! We can now jump into the water!
I will begin my story in late 1988. I had just turned fifteen years old - life was great! I depended on my parents, no rent and bills to pay and many goods were very affordable. Well, I just had cleared my 8 years in primary school at Muthaiga Primary School, Nairobi and was eagerly waiting to join high school.
In 1989, I joined Ruiru high school; it was a boys and girls school on Thika road. I was drawing a lot during the holidays before, but since my next school life was going to be spent in a boarding school, I had to prepare myself for a new lifestyle: More studying and less drawing.
Every form one student was bullied and I had my share of that but the peer pressure from my age mates was slowly getting the best of me. All over sudden I stopped drawing even through my holidays. I kept this long crazy haircut which back then was known as "punk".
I no longer found much craving for drawing and blindly wanted to be associated with up-to-no-good boys. This went on until somewhere in February of 1990.

I was in form two. One night I was part of a plan to raid the form one students and order them to surrender their pocket money and other goodies to us. My role was to stand outside the form ones dormitories and look out for any signs of danger while my friends do their robbing in the dormitories. We had all covered our faces with funny masks as we did our raid. We were six in number.
Unfortunately, this was not going to be our night. The form ones started screaming, it caught us by surprise. Their shrieks woke up the whole school - my gang had to dash out. It was around mid-night and each one of us went his way. The boarding master, head boy and other top prefects did their search and guess who they managed to nub in the end? Another boy and me! Mob justice took centre stage, every boy who could get his kicks and blows on us enjoyed the session. We were beaten till all our bones really ached.
That night I did not sleep in my dormitory; I was locked in a dark cold room together with the other boy until dawn. It was a huge case. When we were asked by the school administration to reveal who we were with during the raid, we said that we were just the two of us. Of course they did not believe us, so... they expelled us!
